Administration
Katie Spisich
Principal
Hello South Families,
My name is Katie Spisich, and I am elated to be filling the Principal position at South Meadows Elementary School, beginning in the fall of 2024.
My educational background includes an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Western Michigan University. Go Broncos! and a masters degree in Educational Leadership from Ball State University. I knew very early in my teaching career that I wanted to pursue educational leadership and am thrilled that I am now taking this next step in my career.
I have thirteen years of elementary teaching experience, nine of which have been right here at South Meadows. I began my journey in the Chelsea School District as a third grade teacher, where I remained for six years, before transitioning into my current role as Literacy Specialist. All of my roles and time spent at South Meadows have allowed me to collaborate and cultivate positive relationships with our students, families, and staff. As I make this transition, I feel incredibly fortunate to have those standing relationships and am eager to strengthen them.
Outside of school, I find joy in spending time with my family: my husband Tom and our two children, Brady and Taylor. We also have a very energetic two year old silver lab, Gracie. In addition to family time, I enjoy gathering with friends, being outside, reading, and traveling.
The sense of Bulldog pride I’ve experienced during my years in Chelsea has been overwhelming. I’ve always felt this is a tight-knit community, filled with the very best people. It is an absolute privilege for me to be transitioning into a leadership role within our Bulldog family. I am eager and excited to continue the excellent work South Meadows is already doing as we move forward together.
Sincerely,
Katie Spisich
